The 6 Christmas markets of Colmar

Six markets fill the squares of the old town. Here is the walking time from Hôtel Gustave to each of them.

Place des Dominicains — 15 min walk

Around sixty chalets at the foot of the Dominican church, whose lit stained-glass windows give the market a contemplative atmosphere.

Place Jeanne d'Arc — 17 min walk

A recreated Alsatian village devoted to regional produce.

The gourmet market, place Rapp — 18 min walk

Nine huts run by nine chefs and master restaurateurs offer seasonal creations and cookery demonstrations.

Place de l'Ancienne Douane — 19 min walk

Around fifty chalets surround the Schwendi fountain, a work by Bartholdi, a native of Colmar.

In the former customs house, craft artists exhibit under cover. Upstairs, the Décapole hall is worth the visit in itself.

  • Obernai — a traditional market at the foot of the belfry, in a medieval setting
  • Molsheim — a market on a human scale on the town hall square, in the heart of the vineyards
